BoltSafe load cell sensors are made to measure and monitor bolt load in bolted constructions during assembly and over time. With this information, safety in the construction is enhanced and bolted joints are more dependable. Not knowing this information could cause bolts to come loose or even break! Gasket joints could start leaking and expensive check-ups or re-tightening procedures would occur. But not when using BoltSafe.
How is the BoltSafe sensor used? Place the load cell sensor on the non-driven side of a bolted connection, preferably under a nut. Tighten the bolt, so force is being applied. This will result in a minor deformation of the stainless steel washer. These deformations cause changes in electrical resistance, which are constantly measured by our sensors. This is the data we use to determine the bolt load at any given moment. BoltSafe load cell sensors can also be used in temporary construction, to make sure that the construction doesn’t collapse.
